Over 60 years of achievements!
The Lake Loramie Improvement Association was formed in 1938 to improve the recreational potential for what was then the Loramie reservoir. Today, the LLIA continues the tradition of improving the Lake Loramie facilities and sponsoring Lake and community activities. With over 400 members annually, it is one of the largest and oldest organizations of its type in the state. And, of course, it is the most prestigious.
The greatest achievement of the LLIA was the construction of the new Earl's Island Pavilion. Last year the LLIA was awarded the prestigious Chief's Award by the ODNR for it's continued efforts in improving Lake Loramie.
The major fund raising activities of the Lake Loramie Improvement Association are:
- Membership Dues
- Food Stand at Fall Festival
- Chuck-A-Luck stand at Liberty Days
- Sale of fishing License through local merchants
- Fall Festival Raffle
- Split-the-Pot raffle at each meeting
These funding activities gives the LLIA an annual budget of about $10k. The LLIA is currently in the middle of a five year plan to replace, or add playground equipment at the beach area, Earl's Island, Filburn's Island, and Luthman Rd.
